The Heisinberg consortium is a dynamic industrial research collaboration, bringing together expertise in quantum and photonic technologies with business acumen. The consortium aims to develop a photonic combinatorial optimisation solver, and commercialise a new quantum simulator paradigm. Our group leads the development of custom algorithms to compatible with the hybrid quantum/classical experimental implementations.
The Analog Optical Computer (AOC), developed by our collaborators at Microsoft Research Cambridge, offers a new way of computation that has the potential to surpass state-of-the-art digital technology. Featuring a fully analog design and operating at the speed of light, AIM is designed to solve difficult optimization problems.
